Our departments
Six departments make up the business. Each page shows the purpose, the people, the measures that matter and the systems the team works in.
District Command and Governance
Leads the district, sets operational priorities, approves operational orders, and runs professional standards, governance, risk, wellbeing and administration so that every member works lawfully, safely and within policy.
General Duties Response
Provides the 24-hour uniformed response across the district, attending calls for assistance, conducting initial investigations, managing incident scenes, supporting victims and referring matters to specialist units.
Community Engagement and Liaison
Builds trust between police and the community through liaison officers, school programs, multicultural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partnerships, public safety awareness activities and support to victims of crime.
Criminal Investigation Unit
Investigates serious and volume crime, manages exhibits and continuity, produces intelligence products, conducts interviews and prepares briefs of evidence for prosecution within the rules of evidence.
Road Policing and Crash Investigation
Delivers highway patrol, impaired driver enforcement and heavy vehicle compliance on the district's freeways and arterial roads, and investigates serious and fatal collisions using crash analysis methods.
Protective Services and Custody
Manages persons in custody safely and lawfully, conducts prisoner escorts and court security support, protects designated premises and events, and keeps the custody register complete and accurate.
